Katie Holmes' Complexion May Be Connected To Scientology Ritual

Remember back in early May when Katie Holmes returned from her debut with Tom Cruise and appeared to have a gnarly case of herpes? The New York Daily News reports today on the hypothesis that perhaps those cold sores were the result of a Scientology purification ritual instead. Scientology insiders take part in a cleansing process called Purif, using niacin to rid their bodies of toxins. According to NYDN, Purif "can cause a red flush on the face and a diffuse itchy rash on the body when taken in large doses."
